Water Park FAQ
Q. What happens if there is bad weather?
A. Surfari Joe's Indoor Wilderness Water Park will CLOSE in the event of any of the following severe weather: Lightning, High Winds, Thunder, or Power Outage. This policy is for your safety. Should the park close for any of these reasons, there will be no refunds given.
Q. Do I have to have a room reserved in order to use Surfari Joe's Indoor Wilderness Water Park?
A. NO. Surfari Joe's Indoor Wilderness Water Park is open to the public!! There are times when the park is closed to the public, but only when the hotel is fully booked. Please call ahead to be sure the hotel is not fully booked and the park is open.
Q. What are the Water Park hours?
A. The Water Park Hours are listed on the Water Park page located at the top of the web page.
Q. What types of life jackets are required or provided?
A. Any life jacket that is Coast Guard approved is acceptable. You may either bring your own Coast Guard approved life jacket or rent one at the Water Park. Rental is $2 with a $20 deposit at the time of rental.
Q. Why are there 15 minute breaks between the Water Park sessions?
A. The 15 minute breaks are there due to a state law requiring we give the lifeguards a break. During this time we also perform water tests and any needed maintenance to make sure the park is 100% safe for all of our guests.
Q. How big is the Water Park, in square feet?
A. The Water Park is approximately 18,000 square feet.
Q. What is included in the Water Park?
A. There is a play pool with two slides and water features (a cargo net, water geysers, water guns, and an 85 gallon "Elephant Head" splash bucket) for smaller children. For adults and older children, there is a lazy river, hot tub with a waterfall, two water slides (1 tube, 1 body) and an activities pool.
Q. How deep is the water in the Water Park?
A. The children's area is no more than 6 inches deep. The rest of the park is 3 feet, 6 inches deep at it's deepest.
Q. Are bathing suits required in the Water Park?
A. Yes they are. No t-shirts or shorts will be allowed. Children still in diapers MUST wear "Little Swimmers" in the Water Park area. "Little Swimmers" are available for purchase in the Water Park for $2. We DO NOT have swim suits available for purchase.
Q. What ages are considered free of charge to the Water Park?
A. Children age 1 and under are free.
Q. If I am just watching my children play in the park, will I have to pay for a wristband?
A. Good question, and the answer is no. Any person(s) not getting in the water will not be charged for admission into the Water Park.
Q. Why is the Water Park so hot?
A. The park must be 10° warmer than the water temperature due to state and federal laws. The water in the park is 84°, so the air temperature must be 94° or more. With a full Water Park, the temperature can go upwards of 100°.
Q. Are there towels in the water park for use?
A. There are, yes. Please do not use hotel room towels in the Water Park.
